Fume Cupboard Bases
Custom epoxy resin bases that achieve outstanding chemical resistance and mechanical strength to withstand the demands of the fume-cupboard environment.
Our fume cupboard bases are cast in the same solid, homogeneous epoxy resin as our worktops, chemical-resistant through their full thickness, mechanically strong, and able to contain and drain aggressive reagents safely.
Bases are made to your specification, with integral dished or coved details and drainage to suit the cupboard. Standard and fabricated options are available.

Built for the harshest bench in the lab.
Fume cupboards take the most aggressive chemistry, heat and spillage in the laboratory. Solid epoxy resin is made for exactly that.
Resists aggressive reagents
Unaffected by the majority of concentrated acids, alkalis and solvents. Because the material is solid, that resistance runs through its full thickness, not a coating that can wear through. See the matrix →
Mechanically strong
Dense and rigid, with 190 N/mm² compressive strength to take the knocks, loads and clamped equipment of daily fume-cupboard use, and no backing material required.
Contains & drains spills
Coved, dished bases hold spills rather than letting them spread, and drain to waste. The non-porous surface wipes down clean and gives residues nothing to soak into.
Standard & fabricated bases.

Standard bases
Moulded bases in standard footprints with integral containment and drainage.

Bespoke bases
Fabricated to your cupboard's exact size, drainage and service requirements.
Matched worktops
Specify with matching worktops, sinks and upstands for a complete fume-cupboard interior. Enquire →

Chemical resistance
Tested to BS EN 438-2:1991 (24-hour spot test). Unaffected by the majority of common laboratory reagents, including acetone, alcohols, and hydrochloric and sulphuric acids. A small number of aggressive reagents cause slight bleaching or surface attack (dichloromethane, hydrofluoric acid, fuming nitric acid). See the full 29-reagent matrix →
